9937 DPF Foam Cleaner

DPF Foam Cleaner is designed to restore performance and remedy malfunctions caused by clogged diesel particulate filters. Especially vehicles that are mainly driven on short routes and city vehicles are affected by problems with clogged diesel particulate filters. Cleans und restores the full flow capacity of the filter. Loosens and removes carbon and ash deposits accumulated in the filter. Secures optimum vehicle handling, engine performance and low fuel consumption. Not flammable. Neutral ash- and metal-free formula. Evaporates without leaving residue behind. For passenger car diesel engines with diesel particulate filter (DPF/FAP). More about this in our informative news.

  • easy to use solution

Step-by-step application instructions

1. Let the exhaust system cool down completely

Leave your vehicle off for at least one hour before cleaning, so that the exhaust system can cool down completely. In this way you avoid stress cracks when the cleaning agent is injected.

2. Removing the soot particle filter

In order to be able to spray the cleaning agent into the filter, you first have to unscrew sensors  and panels that might block the access to the DPF.

3. Insert the products probe into the sensor opening Next, insert the probe of the detergent through one of the holes in the particle filter.

4. Spray cleaning agent

Before you use the cleaning agent, you should shake the can well. Spray the detergent into the filter at 10 second intervals for 5 seconds at a time. While spraying, rotate the probe so that the cleaning agent reaches everywhere. Repeat until the can is completely empty.

5. Put the sensors back in

Next, the sensors you unscrewed before must all be installed again.

6. Performing regeneration

If possible, you should now start regeneration manually, this can be initiated e.g. via the control unit. Now leave your car for 15 minutes with the engine running at idle. Switch on all current collectors (lights, seat heating, front/rear window heating, air conditioning). Afterwards, it is best to drive for another 20 minutes at high speed and a rotation speed of 2000-2500 rpm on the motorway to burn out the filter.

7. Reset learning values so that the probes no longer think that the soot filter is filled

The control unit is just calculating the ash load of the DPF based on the consumed fuel during the DPF lifetime - it does not measure the ash load directly. So once everything is done, you can reset the learning values with a diagnostic device. If you don't do this, the on-board computer will continue to think that the DPF is fully loaded - which can lead to an undesirable behaviour of the car.

Summary

The temperature of the particulate filter before cleaning should be less than 40°C. Remove the temperature or pressure sensor. Insert the probe through the opening and empty the can contents in jerks towards the particle filter. Work with spraying impulses at intervals of 10 seconds. Allow to soak in for 15 minutes. After reinstalling the sensor, it is imperative to initiate DPF regeneration in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and to clean it.
