Harmful substances and solids can form in the refrigerant circuit and cause damage to components. Therefore, the flushing of air conditioning systems is one of the most important activities in the case of repairs and especially in the case of compressor damage.

WARNING: Replacing the compressor requires flushing the entire air conditioning system.

Compressors, expansion/throttle valves and filter dryers or accumulators, however, cannot be flushed. They must therefore be bridged with adapters during the rinsing process. After completion of the flushing process, the expansion/throttle valves and filter dryer or accumulator and consumables must be replaced.

2 different ways to rinse

With its integrated flushing function, the AC92EA air conditioning service unit enables the air conditioning systems to be flushed quickly and inexpensively with the liquid refrigerant R134a. An external flushing device and parts from a flushing adapter set must be used – both are sold separately. After starting the function on the device, the vehicle air conditioning system is filled with liquid refrigerant and then drained again. This cycle should be carried out three times in order to achieve the best possible cleaning effect.

What impurities can be removed by rinsing? What are the effects of these types of impurities?

  1. ABRASION IN CASE OF COMPRESSOR DAMAGE
    The material particles clog expansion valves, throttle valves (orifice tubes) or multi-flow components (condenser, evaporator).
  2. MOISTURE
    Expansion valves and orifice tubes can ice up. Acids can form due to chemical reactions of refrigerants and refrigerant oils with moisture, which causes hose assemblies and O-rings to become porous. The system components are then damaged by corrosion.
  3. ELASTOMERS (RUBBER)
    The elastomer particles clog expansion valves, orifice tubes or multiflow components.
  4. CONTAMINATED REFRIGERANT OIL OR REFRIGERANTS
    Acids can form as a result of contaminated refrigerant or the mixing of different refrigerants. These can cause hose lines and O-rings to become porous. As a result, other system components can be damaged by corrosion.
